Experienced Technical Support Engineer (TSE)

Basesoft Solutions is a young, informal, dynamic and innovative company with the head office in Amsterdam. At this moment we have personnel working in the Netherlands, Romania and Spain.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you address customer questions and concerns regarding Basesoft Solutions products. This job involves answering incoming requests through phone, emails and web from customers and troubleshooting technical problems.

In addition to addressing customer inquiries, concerns and suggestions, you focus on issues brought up internally. You serve as an expert in the products that Basesoft Solutions develops. You find solutions to problems with the products and help our customers to work through technical difficulties.

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Technical depth and ability to communicate with development and other internal organizations and ability to learn quickly
  • Use data analysis and lab simulations to resolve customer requests
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team

 Nice-to-have:

  • Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems
  •  Knowledge of web development, including JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Keen to acquire, learn and staying up-to-date with new technologies
  •  Writing automated-test experience
  • Server-side programming and SQL-knowledge

As a support engineer, you also report defects or offer suggestions for product improvement. Through your investigations, you contribute to product knowledge and help make future technical support easier. Additional responsibilities may include taking action to resolve problems, troubleshooting, answering phones calls and responding to e-mails.

Job duties may include

  • Filing reports through ticketing regarding product problems
  • Researching technical issues
  • Walking customers through solutions
  •  Reviewing product change requests
  •  Learning about product updates and new technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution
  • Answer inbound support requests (phone, email, tickets
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve customer issues
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the development team
  •  Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues
  •  Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps
  • Participation in providing training to customers as required

Experienced Junior or Senior PHP/Python Web developers

At this moment we have webdevelopers working in the Netherlands, Romania and Spain.

What do we require?

  • Excellent English communication skills verbally as well as in writing
  • 3 to 10 years programming experience
  • University/HBO degree
  • You are a team player

What are we looking for?

Junior or Senior webdevelopers PHP/Phyton that have experience with and/or
  • Minimum 3+ years hands-on web development experience in a commercial software development environment using PHP/Python, Java script and C/C++
  • Databases experience like Oracle, MSQL, MYSQL or other mainstream databases
  • Database Architecture experience
  • Apache operating systems
  • Network and hosting experience
  • Experience as a team leader with management skills
  • Experience with of OOP / XML / CSS
  • Experience with security of web applications
  • You must have proven skills and demonstrated ability to successfully develop online software in a commercial environment. You are capable of developing software individually as well as in a team and be able to meet deadlines
  • Prior experience in building back-end server processing software is preferred.
